Frankly, I despise the topic because politicians usually tick me off. Why you ask? Because politics today are more like a UFC title match than a political race.
Although I believe it is vital to learn
about our country and its political standpoints, I don’t believe it’s
healthy to let those standpoints consume you to the point of no return.
Sadly, this happens to way too many people in our generation.
Let’s Get Something Straight:
1. There is nothing wrong with standing up for your views.
2. There is nothing wrong with standing up for what you believe in.
3. There is nothing wrong with standing up against what you don’t support.
Before you start saying, “Ya! Totally,” let me finish…
There is nothing wrong with these things, AS LONG AS THEY ARE BIBLICAL.
My Point:
1. We are called to stand up for our political beliefs in a manor that resembles biblical truth and instruction.
2. We are NOT called to put our personal opinions, and viewpoints in a spot higher than biblical truth and instruction.
If you call yourself a “Christ Follower”,
I am sorry but there is no room for debate against biblical truth here.
What’s truth is truth. What’s false is false. Don’t believe me? You can
take it up with the almighty Judge. (God)
Don’t let your political views overtake
the truth of biblical text. We are called to be examples of Jesus in all
aspects of our lives, and that includes the political system.
“Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. (Philippians 1:27)”
